Traditional Indian Head massage was restricted to the head. In modern times the massage has evolved to include the neck, shoulders and upper arms. Indian head massage is a safe and effective therapy that not only promotes hair growth, but also provides relief from aches and pains. It is renowned for relieving symptoms of stress.
How does it work?
The head neck and shoulders are important energy centres within the body. Tension tends to accumulate in the head when you are feeling stressed or angry. The tension will then show up as a stiff neck, stiff shoulders, eye strain, headaches and in some cases even hair loss. Indian head massage involves working with a firm and gentle rhythm to help break up blockages and relieve this uncomfortable build up of tension. However, it’s effects are not just limited to the physical ailments. It works on an emotional level also, calming the spirit, promoting relaxation and relieving stress. Due to the passage of the acupuncture meridians through the head neck and shoulders, during the Indian head massage theses acupuncture meridians and also specific points are pressed and rubbed. This will have effects on the internal organs thus providing a holistic massage for the person.
A course manual is also included with the course and this outlines and explains the course in detail. It will help you during your case studies.
